365 Day 27
I have moved around a lot in my life. I’ve lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut, and now California. Even within those states I’ve lived in various cities and towns. As a child I moved around a lot, typically never staying in one place more than a year at a time. During the course of my 30 years on this planet I bet I have packed up and moved at least 25 times, if not more.
Almost everything that I own in my possession has picked up mostly recently. Every book, electrical device, piece of furniture, photo, movie, down to the last little knickknack I picked up during my 20’s. I don’t think I own anything from when I was a child – except 1 thing. My Curious George stuffed animal who is peeping over my shoulder in this picture while I fall asleep.
Somehow the scoundrel has stuck around. He never seems to get lost. I’ve owned him since I was a new born baby!
I remember when I was about 5 and we moved from one apartment to the another. All my stuffed animals were crammed into 2 big trash bags. When we got to the new apartment and opened them up they had mites or maggots or some kind of bugs that had somehow infested them during the journey. I mother threw them all out; except for CG. He made the cut.
I remember when I was about 8 and his little wind up jingle music that sits on his ass (not shown) broke. It stopped winding and making music. I was so sad I cried. It’s kind of like having a dog for 20 years that suddenly can’t bark or jump anymore.
I remember when I was about 12 and I thought it I was too cool to sleep with him anymore. So I eventually put him in my grandparent’s attic. He hibernated in there for a number of years.
I remember when I was about 19 and I went looking for him in a different attic (because they had since moved). I couldn’t find him and chalked it up to him being lost. But then I was going down the steps I gave it one last look and unexpectedly saw him glancing at me JUST LIKE IN THIS PICTURE! I got so happy like I just found a long lost relative or something.
I remember when I was 24 and I was messing around with the formally mentioned broken wind up music thing. Somehow I got it to work by forcefully twisting his ass around. I could get it to play the song from when I was a kid. Sort of a reject slow version of it. I completely forgot how the song sounded till that moment. The memories came flooding in. I think I was smoking weed and high at the time too. It was very bizarre – in a good way.
Here’s to you CG! Thanks for sticking around through this crazy adventure. I love you!

Day #112 - 22/04/09 - Broken and Imperfect
Apparently I like my body today. Yay ^_^
These mirrors shall become a permanent attachment to my wall I think. They pretty!!
Today involved tidying and rearranging my bedroom.
Avoiding being crushed by heavy furniture and sneezes because it was dust city.
Then I tried to go to work. Apparently I wasn't rostered on though >_>
I came home, finished making my space perfect (I like it again now) and took photos ^_^
I want LC to visit me after he finishes work... but I think he's busy.
The fact that I'm being too shy to ask him does not help the situation!
